Through Your Eyes
The W.H. Tupper Museum is looking for local photographs of the Jennings area to be included within an upcoming exhibit.
The exhibit, “Jennings Through Your Eyes,” will feature photographs taken around the City of Jennings that depict the modern day experience of being a Jennings resident. The exhibit is expected to run for around six months.
Museum Operations Assistant Jason Onellion, said the exhibit will be a great opportunity for locals to have their photographs displayed in a museum.
“We are seeking more modern, recent or new pics to show people what its like to live in Jennings,” Oneillion said. “We are taking submissions from all age groups and any level of experience. All levels of photo-proficiency are welcome.”
Onellion said submissions should be in digital format, in the highest available resolution.
“You don’t need to print the photographs, we will handle that for each submission,” he said. “Just try to send the highest resolution possible.”
Each photograph will be printed by museum staff and displayed with a small plaque naming the photographer and any title given to each piece.
“We want this to be something people can bring their friends and family members to see and show off their work being displayed in a real museum exhibit,” he said.
Submissions are limited to 3-5 photos and must be emailed to tuppermuseum@cityofjennings. com for consideration. Wednesday, October 10 is the deadline for all submissions. Watermarks are allowed, but only if they are not prominent, Onellion said.
Museum staff are also working on refreshing some of the existing exhibits, including a Jennings High School room with band and cheer uniforms, yearbooks and other memorabilia.
