Walter James Clement Sr.
LAKE ARTHUR - A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church for Walter James Clement, Sr., 62, of Jennings on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, at 10 a.m., with Farther Jay Alexius officiating.
Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home on Friday, Aug.10, 2018, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of his funeral mass.
A prayer service will be held at 5 p.m. and a rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Friday.
Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery.
Walter was born in Jennings on Aug. 20, 1955, to Austin Clement and Margie Lou Bertrand Clement. Walter was called from this life on Aug. 9, 2018.
He loved talking on his CB radio, fishing and working on things. His greatest joy was spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids, as well as all of his extended family. Walter was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Walter is survived by his beloved wife, Norma Sou Clement of Jennings; his children, Chastity (T.J.) Miller of Jennings, Scottie Clement of Welsh, Walter Clement, Jr. (Amanda Ryder) of Lake Arthur, Keyatha Domingue and Kalob Domingue of Jennings; his grandchildren, Tony Clement, Daylon Guidry, Autumn Hanks, Arley Hanks, Zander Hanks, Destiny Clement, Shiann Clement, Zoey Ryder, J’Hordan Actlis, Justine Fontenot and Zaylen Ryder; his great-grandchildren, Molleigh Clement, Derrick Whitman and Jep Whitman; his sister, Dernise Neigel of Thibodeaux; his brothers, Garner (Sissy) Clement and Christopher (Sherry) Clement, both of Lake Arthur; his sister-in-law, Pumpkin; his favorite neighbor and friend, Clara Benoit; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Margie Clement; his brothers, Bernard Clement, Kevin Clement and Robert Clement; his nephews, Garner Clement, Jr. and Christopher Clement, Jr.; and his niece, Misty Clement.
Carrying Walter to his final resting place in St. Anthony Cemetery will be Tony Clement, Daylon Guidry, Arley Hanks, Zander Hanks, Walter Clement, Jr. and Christopher Clement.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kalob Domingue and Derrick Whitman.
