Yvonne Ray Swier

It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Yvonne Ray Swier announces her passing from this life on July 1, 2018, at the age of 64.

Funeral services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings today, Thursday, July 5, 2018, at 7 p.m., with Father Charles McMillin officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home today, Thursday, June 5, 2018, from 2:30 p.m. until the time of her service at 7 p.m.

Yvonne was born in Lafayette to Felix Romero and Eveline Guidry Romero on Nov. 7, 1953. She was a sitter, for the elderly and the young. She loved taking care of people and would help anyone that was in need. Yvonne also loved spending time with her family. She was a kind and loving person who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Yvonne is survived by her son, Travis Swier (Sheila) of Jennings; her granddaughter, Trista Swier of Jennings; her sister, Elaine Young (Charlie) of Jennings; and her brother, James Romero of Jennings.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Eveline Romero.
