Rose Blanchard Spell

The family and friends of Rose Blanchard Spell are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on July 28, 2020, at the age of 87.

Funeral services for Rose B. Spell will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel Friday, July 31, 2020, at 2 p.m., with Reverend Trey Ange officiating.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday, July 31, from 9 a.m. until the time of her service, with a rosary recited at 11 a.m. Burial will follow her services in Calvary Cemetery.

Rose was born in Mermentau to Euclide Blanchard and Dolia Broussard Blanchard on April 30, 1933.

She enjoyed going to the casino, fishing and gardening. Rose loved when she was able to set sail on a beautiful cruise. She also loved to eat crawfish. Rose will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rose is survived by her daughters, Carol (Bruce) Baugh of Lake Charles, Patricia (Lee) Richard of Lake Charles and Connie (Michael) Jordan of Deridder; grandchildren, Jeremy, Dawn, Billy Wayne, Christy, Kelly, Corey, Gina and Jacob; eight great-grandchildren; and six great greatgrandchildren.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Euclide and Dolia B. Blanchard; husband, Carl Spell; daughter, Cindy Spell; brother, Chester Blanchard; and sisters, Gladys B. Dupuis, Vivian B. Meche, Lillie B. LeJeune, Lillian Blanchard and Bessie Blanchard.
