Justin Troy Sonnier

A Mass of Christian burial was held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for Justin Troy Sonnier, 36, of Jennings on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 11 a.m., with Father Susil Fernando officiating.

Visitation was held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Friday, May 7, 2021, from 4-8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. The family requested that visitation resume Saturday, May 8, 2021, from 8 a.m. until the time of his funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery.

Justin was born in Lafayette Aug. 20, 1984, to Jonathan Gary and Rosalyn Sonnier. He was called from this life on May 5, 2021.

Justin worked as a carpenter. He loved to fix broken things and play music (DJ), as well as spend time with his family and friends. Justin was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Justin is survived by his biological father, Jonathan “Choe” Gary of Lake Arthur; his parents, Aubry and Marcellitte Sonnier of Jennings; his half-sister, Bryley Elizabeth Doan of Lake Arthur; his nanny, Lisa Sonnier of Lake Charles; his nephews, Ryan Sonnier (Sage Guillory) of Jennings and Zack LaComb (Hannah) of Lake Charles; and his niece, Katlyn LaComb of New Orleans.

Justin was preceded in death by his mother, Rosalyn Ann Sonnier; his paternal grandparents, Zenis and Francis Sonnier; his maternal grandparents, Luke and Mamie Myers; his brothers, Troy Sonnier and Chad Sonnier; and his sister, Kathy Sonnier.
