Gvokia Demald Manuel
Celebration of Life services for Gvokia Demald Manuel, 45, were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Semien-Lewis Mortuary Church Chapel, located at 819 N. State Street in Jennings. Reverend Emerson Baty, pastor of Antioch Baptist Church of Lake Arthur, officiated.
Visiting with family and friends was held in the Mortuary Chapel from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Gvokia passed away peacefully at his Jennings residence after a brief illness.
He was born in Jennings on Nov. 26, 1975, to Reginald Manuel and Renella Sinegal Manuel. Gvokia completed his education in Jennings and was employed as a cement finisher in the construction industry. He later worked for Walmart Corporation.
Gvokia loved his children and was a loving man, son, brother and friend. He loved to cook and enjoyed sharing meals with family and friends.
Gvokia is survived by his five children, Ja’Vokia Williams, Gvokia A. Manuel, Gvohnne Manuel and Za’Nyri Gayfield, all of Jennings, and Kaden Benoit of Welsh; his parents, Reginald Manuel and Renella Sinegal Manuel of Jennings; two sisters, Keycia Manuel of Lafayette and Regella Manuel of Lake Arthur; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
