Edward Earl Arnold

Edward Earl Arnold, 90, of Roanoke passed away Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, at Jeff Davis Living Center.

Services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021, at 10 a.m., with Bro. Darrell Hieronymus officiating.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday, Aug. 23, 2021, from 5-8 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.

He was born to Auvern and Emma Arnold on Aug. 17, 1931, in Batson, Texas.

He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting.

He was proud of his service in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, where he served as a medic. Most of all, he was a very proud Christian and promoted Christ to anyone and everyone that would listen.

He is survived by one son, Edward “Ed” William Arnold (Nikki) of Westlake; one daughter, Bonnie Morvant of Lake Charles; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Arnold; one son, James Douglas Arnold; one daughter, Deborah Fontenot; four brothers, Dudley, Douglas, Bobby and Lloyd; and four sisters, Norma Jean, Margaret, Joyce and LaVergne.
