Joyce Crochet
The family and friends of Joyce Crochet are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on Sept. 12, 2021, at the age of 93.
Funeral services for Joyce Crochet will be held at 10 a.m. at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, with Eric Crochet officiating and Reverend Louis Charrier, Eulogy.
Visitation will be held in Jennings at the funeral home today, Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, from 4-9 p.m. The Crochet family will be honoring their mother with a Gospel Tribute, starting a t 6 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation will resume Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, from 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 10 a.m.
Joyce will be laid to rest in Grace Community Cemetery.
Joyce was born in Egan to Cyprien LaCombe and Julia Cormier LaCombe on July 30, 1928. She was known for being a devout and faithful Christian woman. Joyce loved going to church and attending in-home prayer meetings. She will also be remembered by her love of Gospel music and how she could always be found singing it.
Joyce enjoyed cooking for her family every chance she got. She will be significantly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Joyce is survived by her sons, Edlas Ray (Dawne) Crochet of Birmingham, Ala., Darrell (Shirley) Crochet of Sulphur, Fred (Trudy) Crochet of Iota, Roddy Crochet of Iota and, and Kim (Darla) Crochet of Iota; daughter, Charlene (Wayne) Neal of Hathaway; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Cyprien and Julia C. LaCombe; husband, Olen Crochet; brothers, Horace and Morris LaCombe; and sister, Durelia Doucet.
Carrying Joyce to her final resting place will be Tyler Crochet, Bo Crochet, Blake Crochet, Trent Crochet, Casey Doucet and Jody Thibeaux.
Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick and Logan Fontenot.
