Mrs. Thornton was a native of Welsh. She was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family and taking care of them. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the “apples of her eye.”
Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting and cooking for her family. When her health permitted, she was very active in church, often singing in the church choir. She enjoyed dancing and listening to music. She cherished her Cajun heritage by speaking Cajun French to many of her friends and family members.
She is survived by her children, Michelle (Curtis) Caswell of Jennings, Chanda Clopton of Evangeline and Sean Clopton of Killeen, Texas; grandchildren, Andrew, Shane and Alix Caswell and Becky and Grace Clopton; and great-grandchildren, Elam, Rowan and Naya Caswell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alcin and Elia Desormaux Ogea, and her brother, Daniel James Ogea.
