Daniel ‘Danny’ Wilson, Sr.

Daniel “Danny” Wilson, Sr., 74, a resident of Zachary and a former resident of Lafayette, went to his eternal home on Feb. 7, 2022.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022, at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, located at 1322 Church St. in Zachary, from 1 p.m. until service time at 4 p.m., conducted by Fr. Ashley Freeman.

Arrangements are entrusted to Charlet Funeral Home of Clinton.

Danny was a 1966 graduate of Delhi High School and a 1973 graduate of Louisiana Tech University. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. He started working at South Central Bell, where made it through the mergers to Bellsouth, and finally AT&T where he retired as Executive Director of Legislative Affairs after 46 years of service. He won many awards throughout his career and built many lasting relationships.

He was an avid duck and goose hunter and had a great love for the outdoors.

Danny is survived by his daughter, Christy Rae Wilson; his son, Danel M. Wilson, Jr.(fiance’ Ruth E. Deich); and his grandchildren, Christian Rae Broussard, Bradon James Wilson, Isabelle Grace Broussard and Monica Grace Wilson.

Danny was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Monica O. Wilson; parents Joel R. and Helen S. Wilson; brother Joe Bob Wilson; and infant sister, Sally Wilson.
