Mary Azia Guillory Crochet

It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Mary Azia Guillory Crochet announces that she was called from her earthly life to join her family that preceded her in death on March 17, 2022, at the age of 74.

Funeral services for Mary Azia Guillory Crochet, 74, of Jennings were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2022, with David Bouley officiating.

A gathering of family and friends was held at the funeral home Tuesday, March 22, 2022, from 2 p.m. until the time of her service at 7 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m.

Mary was born in Ville Platte to Natzile Guillory and Yvonne Fontenot Guillory on Oct. 31, 1947.

Mary was a homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family that she adored. Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose greatest joy came from spending time and making memories with her family. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and watching the Saints play football. She was a kind and warm-hearted soul who will be immensely missed by all who loved her.

Those left to cherish the memories of Mary are her two sons, Rodney Crochet, Jr.. of Evangeline and Steven Crochet (Hannah) of Elton; her three daughters, Pollyanna Crochet Martin of Jennings, Natalie Crochet (John LeJeune) of Jennings and Tasha Monceaux (T-Boy) of Jennings; her 21 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Mary is now with the family that preceded in death, including her husband, Rodney Crochet, Sr.; her parents, Natzile and Yvonne Fontenot Guillory; her daughter, Rhonda Crochet; her sister, Brenda Fruge; and her greatgrandson, Nicholas Shows.

Mary’s family is honoring her wishes of cremation which followed her services.
