Judith Ann ‘Judy’ Blackwell LeJeune
The family and friends of Judith Ann Blackwell LeJeune are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on May 2, 2022, at the age of 77.
Funeral services to honor Judy’s life will be held at 3 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings, with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home today, Wednesday, May 4, from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Burial will follow in St. Jules Cemetery.
Judy was born on July 10, 1944, to Leo Blackwell and Mary Ethel Rasberry. udy was very hardworking and loved her job which allowed her to shop, her favorite hobby. She was very strong-willed and strongminded, but was still a beautiful, stylish and fun-loving woman. Judy also enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing with her husband, trips to the casino and drinking her favorite drink, “whiskey sour.”
She adored her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She embraced each of them as her own and loved sharing in their lives.
Judy volunteered at the Jennings American Legion Hospital for over 30 years in the gift shop. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Judy was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Judy is survived by her sister, Yvonne Tramel (Rudy) of Evangeline; her nieces, Laurie LeJeune (Johnathon) of Evangeline, Donna Stevens (Walter) of Evangeline, Jennifer Beard of Evangeline, Michelle LeJeune and Jessica LeJeune; her nephews, Damon Gatte (Joan) of Duson, Justin Tramel of Evangeline, Paul LeJeune and Bryan LeJeune; her brother-in-law, Darrell LeJeune (Genevieve) of Ville Platte; her sister-in-law, Kathryn LeJeune of Baton Rouge, as well as great nieces and nephews, Brittany, Dillon, Gwen, Matthew, Alex, Mia, Gracelyn, Jamie, Hailey and Stephan.
Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold LeJeune; her parents, Leo and Mary Ethel Rasberry Blackwell; her sister, Linda Blackwell Beard, and her brother-in-law, Raymond LeJeune.
Those chosen to honor her as her pallbearers will be Alex Gatte, Dillon Gatte, Damon Gatte, Brittany Thibodeaux, Matthew Thibodeaux, Justin Tramel and Johnathon LeJeune.
