Roxann ‘BooBoo’ Wright Leger
It is with great sadness that the family of Roxann “BooBoo” Wright Leger, 57, of Mermentau announces her passing on Monday, June 13, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
In accordance with the family’s wishes, Mrs. Leger’s cremation will be held under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at First Church of Christ in Jennings on Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m., with Brother Phil Doucet officiating.
Roxann was born in Jennings on Dec. 23, 1964, to Kenneth “Sammy” Wright and Nora Rasmussen.
After nearly 20 years at Jeff Davis Council on Aging, Roxann became the office manager for the local Mosquito Control. She was a dedicated employee and loved her work family dearly.
Roxann was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. She never met a stranger and she loved making friends everywhere she went.
Her children were her greatest pride. She spent her life making sure their days were filled with love and laughter and that they never went without. She was a devout Christian and served the Lord daily in all that she did.
Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Carl Joseph Leger; her mother, Nora R. Woodward; daughter Nikki and her husband, Chris Jannise, of Goodyear, Ariz.; son Blake Leger and his wife, Courtney, of Ellis; sister Karen Wright of Jennings; three grandchildren, Alex Jannise, Ella Mae Leger and Lane Leger and her mother-in-law, Elday Thibodeaux of Jennings.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth “Sammy” Wright.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Brierre and Hospice of Acadiana for showing such passion and care to Mrs. Roxann and her family.
