Hilda Chiasson

Hilda Chiasson, 93, of Welsh passed away Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022. She was born Dec. 11, 1928, to Dominic and Pauline Broussard Leleux.

The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh on Friday, Nov. 4, 2022 beginning at 8:30 a.m. until the procession leaves for the church at 12:45 p.m. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home at 11 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, followed by an interment in the church mausoleum.

Hilda was a native of Estherwood and resident of Welsh for most of her life, where she was a parishioner of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, a Eucharistic Minister, Sacristan and lector. She was also a member of the Ladies Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America, East Deanery Serra Club and Companion of Honor Society.

Those to left to cherish her memory are her children, Cynthia Ardoin, Beth C. Parker and husband Tim, Robert J. Chiasson, Jr. and wife Kim and Mark S. Chiasson and wife Melanie; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 68 years, Robert J. Chiasson, Sr.; brothers Wilbur, Harold and Loren Leleux; sisters Shirley L. Harris and Carrie L. Cramer and a grandson, Nicholas A. Chiasson.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Golden Age of Welsh Nursing Home and Heart of Hospice in Lake Charles for their compassionate care in their time of need.
