Marlene A. Royer
Funeral services for Marlene A. Royer, 71, of Jennings, was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Rev. Susil Fernando officiating. Visitation began Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, from 3:30-8 p.m. in Miguez Funeral Home Chapel, with a Cursillo Rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation resumed Saturday from 8 a.m. until the 9:30 a.m. departure for the church.
Burial followed in Doucet Cemetery. Ms. Royer passed away peacefully on Nov. 9, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on May 20, 1951, in Jennings to Allen Landry and Louise Miller Landry. After her high school graduation, she was employed as a bus driver/classroom interpreter for Jefferson Davis Parish School Board.
She was a lifelong resident of Jennings and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her special friend and caretaker, Denise Perry; daughter Christina (Jarrod Collins) Royer; two sons, Clavin (Kamela) Royer, Jr., and Christopher Blaine (Debbie) Royer; five sisters, Janelle “Jan” (Tony) Smith, Brenda (Jerry) Manuel, Bonnie (Jackie) Comeaux, Connie Landry and Monica McNeal; one brother, Bryon (Helen) Landry; seven grandchildren, Spencer, Seth, Kyler, Katelin, Kelsey, Jenna and Dylan; three great-grandchildren, Noah, Sebastian and Everleigh and three godchildren, Lisa, Megan and Buddy.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
