Vance Andrew Benoit, Jr. (Junior)

Vance Andrew Benoit, Jr. (Junior) of The Woodlands, Texas, went to be with the Lord on March 11, 2023 from complications of dementia.

Vance was born on Jan. 28, 1937 in Gueydan. He graduated from Lake Arthur High School and continued living in Lake Arthur until he relocated to Houston while working for Columbia Gas System from 1958-1997. At that time, he developed many lifelong friendships.

Vance loved nothing more than spending time with his large family. He was a kind soul who had a gracious attitude and bright smile that will be missed by everyone he touched.

Vance also enjoyed hobbies such as playing golf, cheering on his favorite college sports teams and dancing to his fond Cajun tunes.

Vance was a devoted Catholic who was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in the Woodlands.

Vance is survived by his wife, Glenda Prejean Benoit; son Bennett Andrew Benoit and wife Nicole; daughter Maria Michelle Benoit; stepdaughter Kristi Svoboda and siblings Viola, Dale, Francis, Helen, Loretta and Michael, along with eight grandchildren and six great-grandsons.

Vance was proceeded in death by his parents, Vance Andrew Benoit, Sr. and MayBelle Benoit; son Stephen Vance Benoit and daughter-in-law Donna and siblings Harold, John Preston and Adeline.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff and caregivers of The Auberge at The Woodlands for all the care they provided to Vance.
