It is with the heaviest of hearts that Arthur Melton, beloved husband of Rebecca A. Melton of Morse announces that she passed away unexpectedly on April 9, 2023.
A Celebration of Life for Rebecca A. Melton, 65, of Morse will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings at 6 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2023, with a rosary recited at 5:30 p.m.
Rebecca’s family are honoring her wishes of cremation following her services.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Friday, April 14, 2023, from noon until the time of her service at 6 p.m.
Rebecca was born in Eunice to Raymond Miller, Jr. and Winnie Manuel Miller on Nov. 19, 1957. Rebecca was a homemaker and dedicated her life to caring for her family, which she adored. She loved being outdoors, fishing, crabbing, playing horseshoes or playing card games. When she was around, she was always the life of party. Rebecca’s greatest joys in life came from taking care of her family.
Rebecca was a loving and kindhearted person who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She behind leaves to cherish her memories her beloved husband of 24 years, Arthur J. Melton of Morse; her son, Daniel Cantu (Aurora) of El Campo, Texas; her stepdaughter, Madeleine Melton of Hathaway; her sister, Linda Hambrick of Mamou; her brother, Kyle Broussard of Jennings; her grandchildren, Zandur Westmoreland and Zayla Melton as well as numerous extend family and friends.
