Timothy Ray Ortego

Funeral services for Timothy Ray Ortego, 46, of Mermentau will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 2 p.m., with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will begin on Saturday, June 9, 2018, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of his service.

Timothy will be laid to rest in Istre Cemetery following his service.

Timothy was born in Jennings on July 4, 1971, to Leroy Ortego and Lee Ethel Myers. He was called to his Heavenly Father on June 7, 2018. He worked in the petroleum industry as a roughneck. Timothy loved the outdoors, he loved to fish, crab, and shrimp. Timothy also loved doing puzzles. He was a kind and loving person, who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Timothy is survived by his parents, Lee (Norbert) Morvant of Little Chenier; his two brothers, Anthony Ray (Belinda) Ortego of Jennings and Conley Ray Ortego of Eunice; his sister, Angela Kay Ortego of Eunice; as well as numerous extended family and friends.

Timothy was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Ortego.
