Bertie Lou Sloan Biessenberger
Funeral services for Mrs. Bertie Lou Sloan Biessenberger, 89, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings, with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Funeral home visitation will be held from 3-9 p.m. today, Wednesday, and will continue from 8 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, in the funeral home chapel.
Mrs. Biessenberger passed away at 8:07 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2018, in Camelot Brookside Nursing Home in Jennings.
Mrs. Biessenberger was a lifelong resident of Jennings and was a retired hairdresser/cosmetologist. She belonged to several quilt clubs and was an avid quilter for family and friends. She was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church where she served on the bereavement committee, sacrosanct services and was on the choir team. Something else she loved doing was spending time with her family on their houseboat.
Survivors include three daughters, Terrlyn Biessenberger and Paula (Wayland) Stutes, both of Jennings, and Mary Beth (Artie) Thibodeaux of Katy, Texas; five sons, Billy (Patti) Biessenberger of Crowley, Butch Biessenberger of Jennings, Tommy (Debbie) Biessenberger of Durango, Colo., Dale (Shelly) Biessenberger of Scott and Mike (Cindy) Thompson of Paris, Ark.; 20 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Hattie Neal Sloane; and her husband, Lawrence Joe (Biezzie) Biessenberger.
Pallbearers will be Todd Darbonne, Shawn Biessenberger, Sloane Biessenberger, Hunter Biessenberger, Jude Thibodeaux and Bryce Biessenberger.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lance Thibodeaux, Dylan Benoit, Jory Thibodeaux, Darren Benoit and Tylon Thibodeaux.
