Jeanette Perry Robert
It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Mrs. Jeanette Perry Robert announces her passing from this life on July 21, 2018, at the beautiful age of 85.
Funeral Services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at 11 a.m., with Father George McLaughlin officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings today, Tuesday, July 24, from 4-9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. by granddaughters Cassie Broussard, Jessica Hannon and great-granddaughters. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, July 25, from 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11 a.m.
Jeanette was born in Iowa to George Phillip Perry and Annie Manuel Perry on Dec. 2, 1932. She was a retired bank teller and UL book store manager. After living in Jennings for many years, she later moved to the Duson/ Lafayette area. Mrs. Jeanette was a faithful member of her church, St. Basil Catholic Church of Duson. She loved tennis, baking, decorating cakes and watching the New Orleans Saints. She enjoyed watching her soap opera, “The Young and The Restless.” The love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was held with a special bond. Her dog, Tigger, was like one of her own children. She loved visiting people and loved everyone. Mrs. Jeanette will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Jeanette is survived by her three sons, James “Rick” Robert (Elaine) of Lake Charles, Ronald Wade Robert (Tana) of Fairbanks, Ak., and Ryan Christopher Robert (Trish) of El Paso, Texas; her four daughters, Jamie Lynn Gann (Patrick) of Gulf Port, Miss., Joni Ann Strickland (David) of Dallas, Texas, Jana Marie Salsbury (John) of Tooele, Utah, and Julie Kay Williams (Drew) of Duson; one sister, Betty Jean Dawson of Baton Rouge; 20 precious grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, James Robert, Sr.
Carrying Mrs. Jeanette to her final resting place in Calvary Cemetery will be Josh Robert, James Dawson, T.J. Chaisson, Jeffery Trahan, Zachary LeJeune and Jarred LeJeune.
