It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Jeanette Carol Trahan announces her passing from this life on Sept. 12, 2018, at the age of 72.

Funeral services for Jeanette Carol Trahan, 72, of Lake Arthur will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at 2 p.m., with Brother Mitchell Gotte officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home today, Friday, Sept. 14, from 3:30-9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 8 a.m. until the time of her service at 2 p.m.

Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.

Jeanette was born in Houston, Texas, to Frank D. Jester and Bula Simpson Jester on Sept. 9, 1946.

She was a homemaker who dedicated her life to the care of her family. She loved to shop, take care of her potted plants and most of all she loved telling stories to her family. She was a kind a loving person who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jeanette is survived by her husband, William Trahan of Lake Arthur; her two sons, Shawn K. O’Quinn (Robin) of Jennings and Lance C. O’Quinn of Lake Arthur; her two daughters, Rachael Sonnier (Richard) of Lake Arthur and Michelle A. Trahan of Lake Arthur; her brother, Hugh Jester of Rockport, Texas; her sister, Stella Birchfield of Houston, Texas; 14n grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Bula Jester; her daughter, Yvette O’Quinn; her two sisters, Myrtle Ann Jester and Yvonne Stephenson; and her two brothers, Frank D. Jester and Steve H. Yates.
