Kevin James Bourque
Funeral services for Kevin James Bourque, 43, of Egan will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, at 3:30 p.m., with Pastor Josh Belt officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home beginning on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, at 3 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m. by Deacon Mike Tramel, and continuing until 10 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation will resume on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, from 9 a.m. until the time of his service at 3:30 p.m.
Burial will follow in St. Jules Cemetery.
Kevin was born in Jennings on March 3, 1975, to William J. Bourque and Judy A. Andrus Bourque. He was called from this earthly life by his Heavenly Father on Nov. 22, 2018. Kevin worked as a volunteer fire fighter for Jennings Fire Department, as a police officer for Jennings Police Department and then as a truck driver for Quality Trucking. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, shooting his guns, traveling and riding his Harley. Most of all, Kevin loved spending time with his family. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Kevin is survived by his parents, William Bourque of Pine Prairie and Judy Ann Andrus Bourque and his stepfather, Ronald J. Thibodeaux, of Jennings; his daughter, Hallie Landry of Jennings; his two sons, Kevin “Buddy” James Bourque, Jr. of Evangeline and Landon Kyle Bourque of Evangeline; his brother, Keith Bourque (April) of Hathaway; his sister, Kayla Bourque Bertrand (Morgan) of Jennings; his three nieces; and his two nephews.
Kevin was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Louis and Odile Bourque; and his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Lena Andrus.
Carrying Kevin to his final resting place will be Keith Bourque, Gabriel Bourque, Morgan Bertrand, Brandon Whiddon and Brad Crochet. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Thibodeaux, Lance Crochet and Allen Sammons.
