Dorothy Nugent Myers

A Mass of Christian burial for Dorothy Nugent Myers, 87, of Jennings will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings today, Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019, at 2 p.m., with Father Charles McMillin officiating.

A gathering of family and friends was held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019, from 3-8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume today, Thursday, Jan. 31, from 9 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Mass.

Dorothy will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery.

Dorothy was born Dec. 4, 1931, to Joseph and Yvonne Quebodeaux Nugent. She was called home to her Heavenly Father on Jan. 28, 2019. Dorothy worked as a cashier for A&P for many years. She was a very faithful woman and loved attending her Rosary group. In her spare time, Dorothy enjoyed playing on her iPad or visiting with friends. Her greatest joy came from the time she was able to spend with her all of her family. Dorothy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Patti (Jerry) Ardoin of Jennings and John David Prejean, Nicole Trumps, Alec Duplichan and Noah Duplichan, Keith A. (Reneé) Myers of Jennings and Chasidy Bertrand, Ashley K. Labouve, Lacie R. Lemieux and Kolby K. Myers; her sister, Florence Blanchard of Midland; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.

Dorothy now rejoices in heaven with her parents, Joseph and Yvonne Nugent; her brothers, Howard J. Nugent, Sr., and Orey Nugent; and her granddaughter, Misty Myers.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kolby Myers, John Prejean, Alec Duplichan, Landon LeJeune, Rocky Blanchard, and Scotty Nugent. Honorary pallbearers will be Noah Duplichan, Slate Lemieaux, Cameron Anderson and Kason Bertrand.
