Gary Lynn Chevallier
Funeral services for Gary Lynn Chevallier, 70, of Elton were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 at 2 p.m., with Reverend Jerry Thomas officiating.
A gathering of family and friends was held at the funeral home beginning on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, from 2-6 p.m. Visitation resumed on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, from 11 a.m. until the time of his service at 2 p.m.
Burial followed in Liberty Cemetery.
Gary was born in Farmerville on Dec. 15, 1948, to Thomas Chevallier and Nora Inez Edwards Chevallier and he was called from this earthly life by his Heavenly Father on Jan. 31, 2019. Gary loved to watch car races and do mechanic work. Most of all, Gary loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and he loved to cook tators and chicken strips. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Gary is survived by his wife, Cynthia “Cinco” Chevallier of Elton; his three sons, Monty (Jessica) Chevallier of Lake Arthur, Mickey (Sunni) Chevallier of West Monroe and Glenn (Melissa) Raggio of Elton; his three daughters, Monica (Karl) Crabtree of West Monroe, Nicole Lafleur of Lake Charles and Mary (Chuck) Fitzhugh of Texarkana, Ark.; his brother, Johnny Chevallier of Downsville; his sister, Annie Ruth Terral of Downsville; his 22 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Nora Chevallier; one grandchild; and two brothers, Don Chevallier, and Tommy Chevallier.
