Catherine Bushnell Lemelle

A Mass of Christian Burial for Catherine Bushnell Lemelle, 95, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2019, in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, located at 804 3rd Ave. in Fenton, with Father Samuel Orsot officiating.

Visitation will be held in the church hall from 8 a.m. until the time of the mass. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m.

Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery in Soileau under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennnings.

Mrs. Catherine B. Lemelle passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 18, 2019, in a Houston, Texas, hospital. Catherine was a native of Soileau and a resident Fenton. She was born on Jan. 27, 1924, to the late Rosa Cesaire and Kossouth Bushnell. Catherine was a faithful member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, pastored by Father Rojo A. Palatty Koonathan, HGN.

Catherine leaves to cherish her memories five daughters, Annie (Audley) Janice of Fenton, Irene Brown of Houston, Texas, Shirley (Calvert) Lemonia of Fenton, Veronica (Mark) Lafanette of Lake Charles and Rebecca (Robert) Thierry of Iowa; two sons, Andrew Lemelle and Wilfred (Clara) Lemelle, both of Fenton; 24 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; 11 great great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Elroy Lemelle; sisters-in-law, Edmonia Bushnell of China, Texas, and May Ella Bushnell of Beaumont, Texas; and a host of relatives and friends.

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Lemelle; her parents, Rosa and Kossouth Bushnell; great-grandson, DaJhaun Lemelle; nine brothers, Mattison, Linton, Elton, Sidney, Antoine, Benedict, Gabriel, Izdore and Floyd; and two sisters, Beulah and Agnes.
