Funeral services for Carrol Lee Hebert, 88, of Evangeline will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings today, Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at 2 p.m., with Brother Chris Wells officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home today, Wednesday, May 29, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of his service at 2 p.m.
Burial will follow at St. Jules/ Tee Mamou Cemetery.
Carrol was born in Evangeline on April 7, 1931, to Vorice Hebert and Mattie Gatte Hebert. He was called from this earthly life by his Heavenly Father on May 25, 2019.
Carrol worked as a farmer. He was a charter member and elder of Bethel Baptist Church and he loved to read his Bible and talk about the Lord. Most of all, Carrol loved spending time with his family at home. He was a kind and loving man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.
Carrol is survived by his two sons, Shannon Hebert (Debbie) of Baton Rouge and Bryan Hebert (Sandi) of Moss Bluff; his daughter, Rhonda Hebert Mahaffey (Ricky) of Oberlin; his sister, Mona Faye LaCombe of Evangeline; his seven grandchildren, Shana, Shelly, Jared, Josh, Kerri, Rhen and Ry; and his 11 great-grandchildren.
Carrol was preceded in death by his parents, Vorice and Mattie Hebert; his beloved wife, Dot Cormier Hebert; his son, Roderick Hebert; his daughter, Carlotta Hebert; and his brother, Larry Hebert.
Carrying Carrol to his final resting place will be James Gueho, Brady Gueho, Ry Mahaffey, Wilton St. Germain, Josh Hebert and Jake LaBauve.
The family of Mr. Carrol Hebert would like to send a very special thank you to all of his caregivers for all the love, care and compassion that they bestowed upon him in his greatest time of need and up until the time of his passing.
