Scott James Fontenot

Memorial services for Scott James Fontenot, 33, of Iota will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings today, Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Kevin Colson officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home beginning today, Thursday, Aug. 29, from 9 a.m. until the time of his service at 11 a.m.

Burial will follow in St. Jules Cemetery.

Scott was born in Lafayette on Sept. 11, 1985, to Marcus Fontenot and Tonya LeJeune Fontenot. He was called from this earthly life by his Heavenly Father on Aug. 23, 2019.

Scott worked in the oilfield industry as a floorhand. He loved playing football, playing on his X-Box, working out and making Christian rap music. Most of all Scott loved spending time with his family. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Scott is survived by his parents, Marcus and Tonya Fontenot of Iota; his three sons, Isaiah Fontenot, Owen Fontenot and Kason Fontenot, all of Iota; his two daughters, Miley Fontenot of Iota and Elizabeth Bergman of Evangeline; and his sisters, Katie Fontenot of Vinton and Paula Fontenot of Vinton.

Scott was preceded in death by his brother, Marcus Anthony Fontenot; and his grandparents, Denise Fontenot and Martha Fontenot, and Peggie LeJeune.
