Darrell L. Marceaux, Sr.

Funeral services for Darrell L. Marceaux, Sr, of Hathaway were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings Monday, Sept. 30, 2019 at 11 a.m., with Father Charles McMillin officiating.

A gathering of family and friends was held at the funeral home Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019, from 2:30-9 p.m. Visitation resumed Monday, Sept. 30, 2019, from 8 a.m. until the time of his service at 11 a.m.

Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.

Darrell was born in Lafayette on Aug. 16, 1942, to Miguel and Adalaide Benoit Marceaux. He was called by his Heavenly Father on Sept. 27, 2019, while surrounded by his loving wife and children.

Darrel was a welder and retired from SBA shipyard. He loved working in his large garden, enjoyed raising his livestock and being outdoors. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Darrell is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Evelyn Caswell Marceaux of Hathaway; sons, Carlton Marceaux and Darrell Marceaux, Jr. (wife, Julie) both of Hathaway; his daughter, Shelly Marceaux Miller of Iota; his five grandchildren, Anthony and Michael Mora, Katelyn Miller, Hali Marceaux Courville (husband, Brennen) and Madison Marceaux; his four great-grandchildren, Jaylen Guidry, Arianna Miller and Ryleigh and Colton Courville; and his beloved dog, Peanut.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Adalaide Marceaux; his daughter, Dana Marceaux Dupre; and his sisters, Rita Guillotte and Eula Mae Monceaux.

Carrying Darrell to his final resting place were Carlton Marceaux, Darrell Marceaux, Brennen Courville, Scotty Hanks, Robert Hanks and Don Guillotte.
