Grand Marais crew makes annual run

The traditions of Mardi Gras continued throughout Jeff Davis Parish as the Grand Marais Mardi Gras took to the streets Saturday for a chicken run.

SHERMAN STREET TO BE CLOSED

Beginning Monday, North Sherman Street in Jennings will be closed between Magnolia Drive and Virginia Street for approximately 45 days. Mayor Henry Guinn said the closure is necessary due to ongoing drainage construction. The road will be open only to those living in the area

South Side Organizers are hosting their second annual Jennings Mardi Gras celebration this Tuesday, Feb. 16.

Deadline for mail, in-person vote is Feb. 11

For those planning to register to vote by mail or in person, the deadline to do so is Wednesday, Feb. 17. Mailed forms need to be postmarked by that date.
