A reverend is encouraging officials and area organizations to formulate a plan to help the homeless after she and several others aided 15 people during the recent winter storm.
A Path Going Forward and the local NAACP chapter will host a community meet and greet at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at Marcus Cain Park The purpose of the event is to introduce the community to Jennings mayoral and city council candidates to give voters a chance to hear candidates discuss issues. The event is free and open to the public. In the event of inclement weather, the meet and greet will be moved to the Ward Event Center on South Main.
The Jeff Davis Parish School Board has released the district calendar for the 2021-2022 academic year. The calendar includes holidays as well as when progress reports are sent home and when nine-week periods end.
