Internet security now more important than ever

The world relies on computerized devices and the internet is as much as ever. As of the third quarter of 2019, there were more than 4.33 billion active internet users, according to Data Reporta I. That marked a 327 million user increase from the year prior. At 8.2 percent, the growth of active internet use is now eight times faster than the overall worldwide population growth.

Baseball and Softball Registration underway

Baseball and Softball registration is underway at the Jennings Parks and Recreation Department. Boys and Girls ages 6-14 are encouraged to participate. The registration fee is $25 per player, and the final day to send in forms is on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. Forms can be picked up at all local schools or more information feel free to call the Recreation Department with any questions at (337) 821-5520.

No. 6 Lady Dogs advance to quarterfinals with win over Union Parish

The No. 6 Jennings Lady Bulldogs kept on rolling in the Class 3A playoffs Tuesday night by blasting No. 11 Union Parish by a final of 57-41 at Gaudet Gymnasium. Jennings will now face a familiar task in traveling to Longville to take on district rival South Beauregard tonight. However, this battle will have a little more at stake than the previous two meetings.

Lady Indians takes Delhi to the ‘Woods’ shed in regional round

ELTON - The Elton Lady Indians used a monster night from ULM signee Vici Woods to defeat the Delhi Lady Bears 69-44 and advance to the quarterfinal round of the Class A playoffs. The No. 6 Lady Indians will now travel to meet No. 3 Northwood-Lena for the chance to advance to the LHSAA state tournament beginning next week.

Lady Hornets back in quarterfinals with 74-43 thrashing of Castor

HATHAWAY - The No. 1-ranked Hathaway Lady Hornets made quick work of their guests from Castor Tuesday night in the regional round of the Class B playoffs, earning a 74-43 win to advance to the quarterfinals.

JHS, stadium could see upgrades

An estimated $7.7 million that could be left over from Ward II construction funds might be put towards projects at Jennings High OHS) and Jerry Simmons Stadium.
