The Elton Indians ran into an offensive juggernaut Thursday night in a nondistrict clash with the 3A Pine Prairie Panthers at Jerry Simmons Stadium. With the halftime score remaining a close 35-26 in favor of the Panthers, Elton saw their guests rip off 27 unanswered points in the second half to claim a 65-26 win. Pine Prairie’s Elijah George was the story of the ball game, as the running back rushed for an astounding 354 yards on 31 carries and six TD’s. Elton’s Sherman Bellow also had a productive night out of the backfield by grinding out 209 yards on 19 carries and scored two TD’s, including one on a 47-yard scoring pass from Maddox Pierrotti. Pierrotti also completed sevenof-15 passes good for 223 yards and two TD’s. He also rushed for another.
