BATON ROUGE — For most Louisiana residents or fans of the LSU Tigers, a trip to Tiger Stadium is an annual pilgrimage to see the Fighting Tigers. Some may only ever hear stories of one of the most iconic football venues in all of college football. For one Hathaway High School (HHS) graduate though, he got a front row seat to all the action over the last two seasons.

Candidates’ names omitted from final list

In the Wednesday, July 27 edition of Jennings Daily News, two candidates were omitted in error from the final list of candidates that qualified to run in the race for Jeff Davis School Board member in the Nov. 8, 2022 election. Blake Frey qualified to run for District 12 school board member and Maddie Dugas Brassell qualified for District 13 school board member.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Luis Garcia hit a tworun homer in the eighth inning and the last-place Washington Nationals rallied past the Los Angeles Dodgers 8-3 Tuesday night for their second straight win against the NL West leaders.

Mariners keep rolling, score two in ninth to beat Rangers 5-4

SEATTLE (AP) — Cal Raleigh homered in the seventh inning, lined an RBI double in the ninth and scored the winning run on Carlos Santana’s sacrifice fly, and the Seattle Mariners rallied for a 5-4 win over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night.

Weapons discharge results in arrest of Jennings man

A local who admitted to discharging his firearm as a warning to a mysterious vehicle parked near his property was arrested Saturday by the Jeff Davis Sheriff’s Office (JDSO).

MBO seeking discharge permit renewal

LACASSINE — Public comments are being accepted on a permit renewal for a local chemical waste disposal company.
