J.W. Scott, Jennings steamboat man, has been released on bond in the federal court following his arrest, along with many others, in sensational charges of rum running along the Louisiana Gulf coast. Federal inspectors spent several days in Jennings last week and are known to have been closeted with several persons here who could throw light on the alleged whisky ring. Although several others were slated to be arrested, no such action has as yet been taken although sources close to the federal authorities aver that several persons in this vicinity are under investigation.
