ELTON – On Tuesday evening, 40 Elton High School (EHS) graduates moved their tassels from the right side of their cap to the left and joined the school’s alumni in a commencement ceremony held at Oris Guidry Gymnasium. Mistress of Ceremonies and Class Vice-President Storm Spell welcomed the graduates and their friends and families, and Cameron McKay led the invocation. Sydnie Bruchhaus gave the salutatorian address followed by Tanner LaComb and Cayl Doise who presented the valedictorian address. In addition to their diplomas, the graduates earned many awards and scholarships totaling nearly $410,000. Madison Leonard received the 2023 Jennings Ocshner American Legion Hospital Auxiliary Healthcare Field Scholarship in the amount of $500. Juliana Carbalan received the Knights of Columbus State Catholic Youth Leadership Award in the amount of $1,100. Noah Dougan was the recipient of the Horatio Alger Association Scholarship for $25,000.
