A group of parish residents who discovered a passion for learning more about family history is holding a workshop in lieu of its monthly meeting. The Genealogical Society of Jennings is inviting the public to a free event on Saturday, Oct. 14 at the Jeff Davis Arts and Technology Center, located at 137 North Main St.
The 42nd Annual End of the Season Stearman Fly-In is scheduled for this weekend. The fly-in is held every year on the first week of October and gives pilots the opportunity to connect with others as well as display their aircrafts. The event begins on Thursday with a fly-out for lunch and end on Saturday with the Annual Awards Banquet at 8 p.m. with a whole lot of flying and fun in between.
