Many area residents turned out for the Jennings Alive Festival, which offered plenty of shopping options and food. Attendees enjoyed the live music, which was perfect taking a spin on the dance floor or simply just singing along. The lineup included The Eighties Experience, Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin’ Cajuns, Buddy Andrews and The Branded and closing out the night, Colby Latiolais and Ambush.

Hounds pound Lions in 47-6 victory

WELSH — Senior wide receiver Will Arceneaux caught two touchdown passes for a second consecutive week and senior tailback Hayden van-Ness rushed for over 100 yards again to help propel t h e Welsh Greyhounds to their seventh consecutive win in a 47-6 thumping of the Vinton Lions. Junior quarterback Dane Iguess enjoyed a great evening, as he tossed four touchdown passes in the win. With the District 5-2A win, the Hounds move to 7-2 overall and 4-0 in league play.
