CADE — The Lacassine Cardinals opened up district play Tuesday night and kept their winning ways going with a 77-66 victory over the Episcopal School of Acadiana. The win moved the No. 2 Cardinals to 27-1 overall, 1-0 in league play. The Cards rode the scoring of sweet shooting senior Kane Broussard, who poured in a game-high 32 points and buried a whopping seven 3-point bombs in the contest. The win was the fourth straight for the Cards since suffering their only set back of the season to 4A Eunice High School. The hot shooting Cards buried a total of 12 3-pointers in the big districtopening win.
