BATON ROUGE — On Saturday, August 17, Luke A. Dupré of Iota was chosen as one of Louisiana’s eight members of the national Electoral College which will cast the state’s eight electoral votes for president and vice-president of the United States on December 17 after the General Presidential Election in November. Dupré has pledged his vote to Republicans Donald J. Trump and J.D. Vance.

CADA in search of teams for fundraiser

LACASSINE — A local non-profit organization supporting domestic violence victims will soon be hosting its largest charity event of the year to help offset the costs of running its shelter. With October being designated as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Jeff Davis Communities Against Domestic Abuse (CADA) is preparing to host its annual Taste-n-Tell fundraiser at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at Bayou Rum Distillery and Event Center, located at 20909 Frontage Rd. in Lacassine. This will be CADA’s second year hosting the event at the new location.
