LAKE CHARLES — The Elton High Indians were on the road Thursday night as they met with the Grand Lake High Hornets in a district contest. However, the Indians would not have the desired outcome falling to 6-3 while the Hornets improved to 5-3 with a final score of 42-28.

WELSH — The Welsh Greyhounds used a strong second half offensive performance and a stingy defense to claim a hardfought 31-10 win over the visiting Lake Arthur Tigers in a District 6-2A battle here Friday night. The Greyhounds rushed for 173 yards in the final half and limited the Tigers to just 61 yards on the ground to pull away for the league win. Welsh moves to 5-4 for the season while the Tigers fall to 5-4 with the loss.
