(AP) — A federal appeals court panel on Friday unanimously upheld a law that could lead to a ban on TikTok in a few short months, handing a resounding defeat to the popular social media platform as it fights for its survival in the U.S. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ruled that the law — which requires TikTok to break ties with its Chinabased parent company ByteDance or be banned by mid-January — is constitutional.

Now that Christmas has finally arrived, we might be thinking “what next?” While many of us are probably looking forward to the New Year and getting back into the “swing of things,” perhaps we should pause and reflect on the meaning of Christmas. Christmas, of course, means many things to many people, and in truth it is so full of meaning that it is no exaggeration to say that it means something different to everyone. But at its most fundamental level, Christmas is an expression of God’s love for us: “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”
