Lacombe visits Rotary Club

District Governor Gary J. Lacombe made an official visit to the Jennings Rotary Club Aug. 14. Lacombe challenged the members to “Be The Inspiration” to take action to create lasting change across the globe, in our community and in ourselves. A humanitarian effort by all Rotarians is to make a polio-free world. Currently there are only 13 cases world-wide located in two countries, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Special district events are scheduled to raise money for eradicating polio.

JDSO presents $7,500 check to CADA

Following the 6th Annual Sheriff Ivy Woods Golf Tournament Benefiting CADA, Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff Ivy Woods recently presented a check for $7,500 to Communities Against Domestic Abuse (CADA). From 2013 to date, the tournament has generated approximately $60,000 in donated funds for CADA to benefit survivors of domestic abuse.
