On Wednesday, Nov. 6, Jeff Davis Parish Police Jury announced the burn ban in place for Jeff Davis Parish was lifted. The recent storms throughout the area over the last week were substantial enough to rescind the order.

Parish schools to honor veterans

With Veteran’s Day right around the corner, local schools are preparing to honor veterans for their service and sacrifices. Welsh-Roanoke Junior High is hosting its program on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 9 a.m. in the gymnasium, located at 8150 U.S. 90 in Roanoke. The program will be followed by refreshments.
