Funeral services for James Reginald Edwards, Sr. 62, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, in the church chapel at Semien-Lewis Mortuary, located at 819 N. State Street in Jennings, with Terry James Simon, Jr., officiating.

Visitation will be held in the chapel Saturday from noon until time of services.

Burial will be in Peterson Memorial Cemetery in Jennings, with Military Funeral Honors accorded by a Fort Polk Squad.

James passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 31, 2020, at Golden Age Nursing Home of Welsh.

Funeral services for Norman Lee Hebert, Sr., 78, of Evangeline will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings Friday, Feb. 7, 2020, at 2 p.m., with Brother Gary DarDar officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home beginning Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. The family requests that visitation resume Friday, Feb. 7, from 9 a.m. until the time of his funeral service.

Norman will be laid to rest in Tee Mamou Cemetery with Full Military Rites.

Ronald Dale Taylor, 73, of Welsh completed his flight home on Monday, Feb. 3, 2020.

Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Ricky Treece, will be held at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Welsh.

The family welcomed friends at the church Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020, from 4-8 p.m. Visitation will resume today, Wednesday, from 8 a.m. until time of service.

He will be laid to rest in Oaklawn Cemetery.

CHURCH POINT - Funeral services for Jerry Thomas Richert, 79, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home, located at 219 N. Broadway in Church Point, from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, and from 8 a.m. Thursday until the time of services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday by Lerlin LeJeune.

LAKE ARTHUR - Funeral services for Wesley Wayne Touchet, 45, will be held at 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020, in Miguez Funeral Home in Lake Arthur, with Pastor John Cernek officiating.

Funeral home visitation will be held Wednesday, Feb. 5, from 11:30 a.m. until time of services.

Mr. Touchet’s body will be cremated following the services.

Mr. Touchet was a lifelong resident of Jennings and an electrician by trade. He loved playing golf, watching Saints and LSU football games, but mostly he enjoyed being with his family and friends.

The family and friends of Melvin Cormier are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on Jan. 29, 2020, at the age of 91.

A gathering of family and friends was held at the funeral home Saturday, Feb. 1, from 10 a.m. until the time of his funeral service.
