The Welsh Greyhounds left little doubt in their contest with the Beau Chene Gators Saturday morning on a frigid day at Danny Reed Field. The cold weather did nothing to deter the Welsh bats, as the pounded their way to a 12-2, mercy-rule win over the Gators in five innings. Freshman Cohen Cormier was magnificent on the mound for the Hounds by tossing 5 frames, allowing only four hits, two runs (one unearned) and walked 3 and struck out 3. The freshman right needed only 75 pitches to complete his mound time. Despite temperatures being in the mid-30’s, the Welsh bats warmed up to collect 10 hits of Gator pitching to secure their 12 runs. Caleb Miller, Grant Daigle and Casey Cormier all collected two knocks for the Hounds at the dish.
