After opening their first season on the softball diamond 0-4, the Christbridge Academy Archangels (CBA) have rallied to win five straight contests to put themselves in second place in their district standings of the ACEL. The stellar pitching of senior Brianna Langley and dynamite hitting of freshman catcher Claire Cooley have helped to guide the Archangels to their 5-4 record. CBA claimed their fifth win of the season on Tuesday at the Jennings Parks and Recreation Department by busting Faith Training Academy by a final of 16-6. The Archangels pounded out 12 hits and played error-free softball in the big win over their guests. Cooley continued her torrid paced at the plate by going 4-4 with RBI’s, sending her season average well above .820. Langley, the former Kinder Lady Yellow Jacket, grabbed another victory in the circle for the Archangels by spinning five innings and striking out eight hitters.
