Few of the gathered Tigers at Monday’s selection show viewing party reacted at all when the brackets for the 2019 NCAA Baseball Championships came out in full, but surely those watching at home might’ve reacted like the two Louisiana natives turned LSU infielders.

One seed LSU, host of the Baton Rouge regional and the No. 13 overall national seed.

McNeese Baseball headed to Vanderbilt Regional

Tigers win wacky one in Hoover to stay alive

HOOVER, Ala. – LSU scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning Thursday on a wild pitch and an error, giving the Tigers a 4-3 walk-off win over Auburn in the SEC Tournament at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium.

LSU improved to 36-23 overall and will play at 6:30 p.m. Friday against the loser of Thursday night’s game between Vanderbilt and Mississippi State. Auburn, which was eliminated from the tournament with Thursday’s loss, dropped to 33-25 on the year.

The game marked LSU’s fifth walk-off win this year, setting a school record for walk-off victories in a single season.

Two Clemson players suspended for season; NCAA rejects appeal

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Clemson tight end Braden Galloway and offensive lineman Zach Giella will miss next season after an NCAA panel rejected the school’s appeal of their drug suspension.

Clemson athletic spokesman Jeff Kallin said Friday that the school learned of the NCAA decision on Wednesday. The school issued a statement that it is disappointed in the ruling and continues “to believe our student-athletes did not knowingly ingest any banned substances.”
