BATON ROUGE (AP) — Kim Mulkey, the coach of defending national champion LSU, is publicizing that she had two stents put in a major artery this summer as she tries to promote screening for lifethreatening arterial blockages.
BASILE — The Elton Indians dropped a tough one Friday night as the Basile Bearcats claimed the Battle of the Bayou by a final score of 27-8. The Indians fall to 2-2 overall, 0-1 in district play. The Indians will be back in action Friday night when they welcome in the Merryville Panthers to town for another district showdown.
PICKERING — To say the Welsh Greyhounds were ready to play Friday night would be a gross understatement. To say the defense came to battle would be a gross injustice. To say the Pickering Red Devils lost the contest on the first play of the game would be completely accurate. The result was a 66-0 shellacking handed to the Red Devils by the Greyhounds. Welsh would score with every possession in the contest except one.

LAKE ARTHUR – The Lake Arthur Tigers had a rough Friday night stroll through Iberia Parish when they took their first loss of the season to the Jeanerette Tigers by a final of 32-0. Now, the Tigers have turned their attention to the Delcambre Panthers for their week four contest down in the bayou. The Tigers will make the trek down to Delcambre tonight looking to get back on the winning track.
