Hathaway High School’s new baseball program recently won their first game leaving their mark in the history books with the first ever HHS baseball win from the first ever HHS baseball team. The Hornets beat the Westminster Christian Academy Crusaders with a score of 6-4 for the historical win.

Elton competes in Yellow Jacket Relays

KINDER – The Elton High track team recently took a short drive to compete in the 2023 Kinder Yellow Jacket Relays. Out of the 10 teams representing their schools in the meet, Elton High School was represented well as the Lady Indians team scored 2nd place and the Indians took 5th overall.

LSU’s national championship women’s team honored with parade

BATON ROUGE (AP) — LSU star forward Angel Reese sat in the back of an orange convertible Corvette, waving to thousands of fans lining the roadside — and also waving her hand in front of her face from time to time, repeating a gesture that caused a stir at the end of the national championship game.

Jennings, Hathaway and Welsh compete in Iota Bulldog Relays

IOTA – Iota High School recently hosted the 2023 Bulldog Relays. Three Jeff Davis Parish (JDP) schools were represented as Hathaway High School (HHS), Jennings High School (JHS) and Welsh High School (WHS) made the short trek over to compete along side nine other area high school teams.

Cubs at Reds postponed due to rain, rescheduled Sept. 1

CINCINNATI (AP) — Wednesday’s game between the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs at Great American Ball Park was postponed due to rain and rescheduled as part of a split doubleheader on Friday, Sept. 1.
