With Louisiana serving as Sportsman’s Paradise, it is not uncommon throughout the year to hear reports about leisure boaters and fishermen drowning while on the water. Summer is certainly no exception when it comes to these tragedies. Just last month, a toddler died at Lake Arthur beach while swimming with family.

The topic of drowning usually involves small children, who can be quick to escape a distracted adult or get lost in a crowded pool. Many of these accidents involve a child who cannot swim falling or climbing into a pool or body of water.

In particular, angry disputes about the president have done terrible harm to the principle that an investigator, be it a journalist or a prosecutor, should meet at least some standard of proof before leveling an accusation.

US court weighs if climate change violates children’s rights

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — In a courtroom packed with environmental activists, federal judges wrestled Tuesday with whether climate change violates the constitutional rights of young people who have sued the U.S. government over the use of fossil fuels.

A Justice Department attorney warned three judges from the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that allowing the case to go to trial would be unprecedented and open the doors to more lawsuits.

“This case would have earth-shattering consequences,” Assistant Attorney General Jeffrey Clark said.
